Differential Product Engineer

Job Description Summary

AAM is searching for a Differential Product Engineer to join our Engineering team. This position will be based out of our Detroit Business Office, located in Detroit, MI.

As a Differential Product Engineer, you will be responsible for releasing differential components, making sure they meet technical standards, project requirements, and quality expectations. As a key member of the engineering team from concept to launch, you’ll manage deliverables, stay on budget, and serve as the main point of contact for your assigned subsystem or component.

Job Description

• Own Differential design from concept through production launch in alignment with PE-PDP and program gate deliverables.

• Interface with CAD and CAE teams to generate models, drawings, and analyses that validate functional and performance requirements.

• Lead development and integration of new differential components across global, cross-functional engineering teams.

• Generate and manage part numbers and BOMs; collaborate with cost engineering to ensure designs meet cost targets.

• Coordinate with systems engineering to release designs in line with program milestones.

• Support design reviews and project planning activities, ensuring adherence to technical specifications and engineering standards.

• Drive continuous improvement in design methods, tools, and cross-functional processes.

• All other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Education

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or similar.

• 3+ years of full cycle product development experience.

• Experience with 3D CAD software.
