Job Description Summary

Join American Axle & Manufacturing in Fort Wayne as a CNC Set-Up Technician and be part of a world-class team that drives the future of mobility. Our team thrives on innovation and collaboration, and we are looking for an ambitious individual ready to take on challenges and grow with us.

Job Description

• Knowledge to teach robot and gantry pickup points
• Knowledge of Nachi robot controls
• Recognize tool paths by interpreting the program (G and M codes)
• Machine set-ups and changeovers
• Ability to train associates on machining standards
• Troubleshoot daily production problems through root cause analysis techniques as they occur
• Participate in continuous improvement processes
• Maintains safety and good housekeeping standards

Required Skills and Education

• 1 to 3 years of experience in high volume precision machining environment
• General understanding of manufacturing processes and detailed knowledge of lathe tooling/programming
• High school diploma or equivalent experience required
• Knowledge of Hard Turning, Green Turning, Milling, Broaching and Part Finishing machining processes
