Job Description Summary

#TeamAAM is looking for a Production Supervisor to join our team on the 3rd Shift in Detroit, Michigan!

This individual supervises Team Leaders and advises resources as the need arises, always guaranteeing the continuous improvement process execution as the main strategy. Coordinates the planning, scheduling, setup, and running of production activities. They will also own the dispersal and distribution of materials for production. The production supervisor maintains labor and material requirements to meet the daily production schedule. They also coordinate with Team Leaders of production support staff by communicating expectations and providing direction and training. They will also monitor work performance and provide feedback, coordinate maintenance of production equipment, and coordinate process control and quality process control.

Job Description

  • Supervises production associate outcomes by selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, mentoring, counseling, and focusing associates; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job contributions; recommending compensation actions; and adhering to policies and procedures.
  • Maintains production processes by observing process volumes; and recommending process adjustments.
  • Completes production processes by monitoring progress; expediting material flow and work results; and resolving problems.
  • Improves process workflow by eliminating stoppages; analyzing delays; and testing new methods.
  • Records production by completing daily shift production reports; and calculating yields and recoveries.
  • Maintains process flow by communicating production status, requirements, and problems to the next shift.
  • Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy production process environment by adhering to organization standards and policies, and to legal regulations; alerting others regarding potential concerns.
  • Gives to the production process and organization success by welcoming related, different, and new requests; and helping others accomplish job results.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Education

  • Relevant experience in an automotive or manufacturing environment.
  • 3+ years experience as a people leader.
  • If needed, availability to work any shift, overtime, and weekends.
  • CNC experience preferred.
