Job Description Summary

The Manufacturing Engineer supports production by developing, improving and stabilising manufacturing processes and equipment within a fast-paced production environment. The role works closely with Production, Quality and Maintenance teams and maintains a strong presence on the shop floor to resolve technical issues and drive process improvements. The position offers direct impact on operational performance, product quality and efficiency, contributing to reliable day-to-day manufacturing operations and continuous improvement initiatives across the plant.

Job Description:

  • Development and improvement of manufacturing processes to support production efficiency, safety and product quality
  • Support of equipment installation, commissioning and modification, including coordination with suppliers and internal departments
  • Creation and maintenance of work instructions, process documentation and manufacturing standards
  • Shop floor support and troubleshooting of production and process-related issues
  • Collaboration with Production, Quality and Maintenance teams to identify root causes and implement corrective actions
  • Preparation and modification of technical drawings, layouts and process concepts using CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks)
  • Analysis and optimisation of production workflows, including implementation of continuous improvement measures
  • All other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Education

  • Qualification in Manufacturing Engineering or a related field (Apprenticeship, HNC/HND or Degree) or proven experience in a relevant engineering position
  • Experience with CAD software such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks and confident use of MS Office applications
  • Hands-on mindset with willingness to work regularly on the shop floor in a production environment
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and quality standards such as IATF 16949 and ISO 9001
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interact with shop floor personnel, technical teams and management
