• Identifiziert mögliche Verbesserungen und nutzt Effizienzsteigerungen im gesamten Konstruktionsprozess über mehrere technische Disziplinen hinweg
• Generiert Getriebekomponenten-Teilenummern und Getriebekomponenten-Stücklisten (BOM)
• Arbeitet mit der Cost Engineering zusammen, um die Kostenauswirkungen des Teiledesigns zu verstehen und liefert Produktsysteme innerhalb der vereinbarten BOMs

• Responsible for Helical Gear designs from concept to manufacturing launch, in accordance with AAM’s engineering standards and program deliverables
• Uses computer aided engineering (CAE) methods to design sub-systems and components, performing component FEA, 1D model analyses and spreadsheet calculations
• Works with cross-functional and cross-regional resources in the development of new gear components based on requirements, and supports their integration into the product portfolio
• Identifies possible improvements and capitalizes on efficiencies throughout the design process across multiple engineering disciplines
• Generates Gear Component Part numbers and Gear Component level bills of materials (BOM)
• Interfaces with Cost Engineering to understand cost implications of part design, delivers product systems within agreed BOMs
• Works with Systems Engineering and Services to release designs within time deadlines
• Supports peer reviews/monthly engineering project status reviews, focusing on compliance with component technical requirements, design standards and project expectations
• Supports creation of engineering project plans and facilitates involvement of internal engineering services
• Actively shares learning and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives

Required Skills and Education

DEUTSCH

• Erfolgreich abgeschlossenes Master-Studium in Maschinenbau (oder vergleichbar)
• Mindestens 5 Jahre Berufserfahrung in der Entwicklung von Getriebesystemen in der Automobilbranche
• Erfahrungen mit Stirnradgetrieben sind unerlässlich, zusätzliche Erfahrungen mit Kegelradgetrieben von Vorteil
• Erfahrung in allen Phasen des Produktentwicklungslebenszyklus - vom Konzept bis zum Produktionsstart
• Erfahrung im Umgang mit SIEMENS NX, KISSsoft und Siemens TeamCenter PLM unerlässlich, Erfahrung mit LDP, GRAVEL, Klingelnberg und/oder Gleason CMMs von Vorteil
• Erfahrung in der Entwicklung von CAD-Modellen und parametrischen Konstruktionen
• Erfahrung im Umgang mit SIEMENS Teamcenter PLM zur Freigabe von Komponenten, Erstellung von CAE-Anfragen und Testaufträgen
• Nachgewiesene Fähigkeit, erfolgreich mit verschiedenen Funktionen bzw. Abteilungen innerhalb einer Organisation zusammenzuarbeiten, gute Präsentationsfähigkeiten
• Sehr gute Kommunikationsfähigkeiten in Deutsch und Englisch

ENGLISH

• Successfully completed Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering (or similar)
• At least 5 years’ experience in the development of transmission systems in the automotive industry
• Experience with helical gears essential, additional exposure to bevel gear design an advantage
• Experience in all phases of the product development lifecycle - from concept to start of production
• Experience using SIEMENS NX, KISSsoft and Siemens TeamCenter PLM essential, experience using LDP, GRAVEL, Klingelnberg and/or Gleason CMM’s an advantage
• Experience in developing component CAD models and parametric designs
• Experience using SIEMENS Teamcenter PLM to release components, create CAE requests and Test Orders
• Proven ability to collaborate successfully with different functions or departments within an organization, good presentation skills
• Very good communication skills in German and English
