Receives and stores. Issues equipment material, supplies, or tools. Compiles stock records in stockroom. Coordinates flow of product to and from finishing operations. Initiates, receives, and reconciles purchase orders.

Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Follow safe operating procedures
  • Maintain 5S standards
  • Perform TPM activities as required
  • Review Standard work, quality policies, processes, and operator instructions
  • Perform Quality checks as required on incoming items, and accurately record using Plexus.
  • Identifies, contains, and generates Discrepant Material Label / Report for any nonconforming material and forwards to the Material Review Board
  • Communicates with co-workers to discuss problems and concerns
  • Manage Stockroom inventory
  • Counts, sorts, or weighs incoming articles to verify receipt of items on requisition or Invoices
  • Examine stock to verify conformance to specification
  • Store articles in bins, on floor, or on shelves, according to identifying information such as style, size, or type of material
  • Fills orders or issues from stock
  • Prepares periodic, special, or perpetual inventory of stock (cycle counts)
  • Requisitions articles to fill incoming orders
  • Compile reports on use of stock handling equipment, adjustments of inventory counts and stock records,spoilage of or damage to stock, location charges, and refusal of shipments
  • Issuance of non-stock items to appropriate departments
  • Distribute stock among production workers, keeping records of material issued
  • Make adjustments to articles carried in stock
  • When stock adjustments need made perform root cause analysis to determine the reason why
  • Determine method of storage, identification, and stock location considering temperature, humidity, height,  and weight limits. Turnover, floor loading capacity, and required space need considered as well
  • Continually look to reduce storeroom inventory to their lowest safe levels without compromising production, quality, or safety.
  • Move or Transport material or supplies to other departments
  • Set Min/Max levels based on lead time and usage
  • Obtain price and delivery quotes
  • Creation of Requisitions, calls for pricing, delivery, and expedited orders.
  • Work with Maintenance Department to strategically stock critical items in the stockroom
  • Work with Engineering and Plant Maintenance in testing new products or scheduling meetings between suppliers and staff at our facility
  • Coordinate repairs of printers and fax machines
  • Help in the Queue area when time permits – wrap and band product for outside secondary operations
  • Meet with Suppliers to review new products, stock levels, pricing, consigned stock, or vendor managed inventory.
  • Manage sintered scrap to the appropriate supplier / contact for pick up
  • Manage organization of the Receiving dock area as well as the Box storage room.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Education

Education:

High School Diploma or GED required. Associate or Bachelors Degree in Applied Science, Business Administration Management, Supply Chain or Marketing preferred – or equivalent work experience in the Materials Planning function

      Experience:

  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in Materials and / or directing the materials function is preferred.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in Materials Planning, working with automotive customers preferred.
  • A working knowledge of personal computers, and stock items. A strong background with Plexus systems and Maintenance related items is preferred.
