Job Description Summary

American Axle & Manufacturing has immediate & exceptional opportunities for Production Operators at our Three Rivers, MI facility.

A. The Company will provide a Sign-On Bonus to new hires in the gross amount of $3,000 which will be paid after the candidate has been employed by AAM for 90 days. This Sign-On Bonus will remain in effect for any associate hired by June 30, 2024.

B. The Company will provide a Referral Bonus to a current AAM associate that refers a candidate hired for employment. If the referred candidate becomes an AAM associate, the referring associate will receive a Referral Bonus in the gross amount of $3,000. The first installment of $1,500 will be paid after the candidate has been employed by AAM for 90 days, and the remaining installment of $1,500 will be paid after the candidate has been employed by AAM for 180 days. When the candidate fills out the Employment Application, he/she must list the AAM associate referring them. This Referral Bonus will remain in effect for any associate referred and hired by June 30, 2024.

Job Description

Responsibilities include numerous duties related to the machining and assembling of automotive axle components and final assemblies. A Production Operator position can include repetitive lifting, twisting and bending, in a factory setting. This opportunity will provide the candidate hands-on, day-to-day technical interaction within automotive manufacturing.

Required Skills and Education

  • Required education: High school or equivalent
  • Able to work any shift
  • Successfully complete a criminal and education background review
  •  Successfully complete a pre-employment physical and drug screening
  • Ability to work on any shift does not mean a swing shift. We are a Unionized facility that in order for an Associate to shift preference to a different shift, they have to meet requirements such as having a high enough Seniority.
  •  Be able to work weekends when volunteered for or required
  • Be highly motivated and have an interest in manufacturing
  • Have a history of safe work practices
  • Be a team player, who is flexible and easily adapts to change
