The Account Manager will work directly with customers to collect information, sell additional products and services to current customers, and ensure customers' needs are met. They will follow organizational policies and procedures and maintain clear and direct line of communication within the organization to meet customer requirements. This person will achieve assigned new business and profitability targets within an assigned account(s). They will also develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders on assigned account.

Job Description

The primary function of a Sales Account Manager is to oversee, manage, and coordinate all customer related activities internally within AAM, so that the end results are projected favorably with the customer. This would include, but not be limited to, Sales, Quality, and Engineering issues, as well as final use by the customer assembly plants. The Sales Account Manager will:

  • Oversee that all customer requests are responded to on time and satisfactorily.

  • Accurately detail all customer requirements to AAM for analysis and future implementation.

  • Assist in program launch activities.

  • Ensure correct design levels from both an engineering and sales prospective.

  • Review AAM UCRS responses for accuracy, coordinate revisions and corrections, and develop commercial proposal for presentation to customer

  • Track and report commercial status and activities for all AAM Internal program reviews and meetings.

  • Take lead role for all customer meetings, including engineering Product Development Team meetings (PDT’s).

  • Respond to EWO Design Change Statements and develop / estimate commercial impact.

  • Track and maintain the business case changes so that overall profitability can be improved (Engineering Change Tracking Sheets).

  • Develop and gather details for re-billable Tooling submissions, and track all customer owed tooling and piece price purchase orders.

  • In conjunction with the Director and Sales Manager, establish strategic marketing plans (short-and long-range) to achieve corporate objectives for AAM products. Ensures successful execution of strategic plans.

  • Establish and efficiently operate administrative systems in support of AAM sales function, using networked computerized systems where appropriate.

  • Coordinate customer's volume analysis including operating premiums and banking programs as required.

  • Research, analyze, and monitor financial, technological, and demographic factors to capitalize on market opportunities and minimize effects of competitive activity.

  • Oversee maintenance of customer database.

  • All other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Education

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Proficient with MS Office (including Word, Power Point, Excel, etc.).
  • Excellent problem solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
