Job Description Summary

Interacts with Crew Supervisors, Module Team Leaders, Maintenance team, Manufacturing Engineering, Product Engineering, and Manufacturing Associates to assess requirements, develop plans, and provide needed materials. Also provides direction for the purpose of assisting employees to safely operate equipment and to make product that meets the Customer’s expectations at levels of productivity that meets or exceed the established plan.

Job Description:

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist the production team in providing direction and training to manufacturing associates on how to do their assigned task(s). This includes hands on training when appropriate
  • Ensure that the assigned area(s) equipment is operating properly and safely throughout the shift
  • Frequently review the Quality of products following each process and provide feedback to Manufacturing Specialists to keep everyone in tune with the process
  • Verify that documented procedures and instructions are being followed:
  • Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Rework Instructions.
  • Work Instructions.
  • Preventive Maintenance Instructions.
  • Inspection Instructions.
  • Reaction Plans.
  • Process Set-up Instructions.
  • Associate Handbook.
  • Police Housekeeping.

  • Facilitate communications between operations, between modules, and between manufacturing shifts
  • Assist with changeovers/setups as required to support operations per Crew Managers and Team Leaders request and Maintenance Manager’s approval.
  • Maintain and report status of supplies at the operation line and inventory levels
  • Works with Quality Engineering, Product Engineering, and Manufacturing Engineers on continuous improvement of the process and the development of new product and equipment
  • Direct and assist shift utilities with daily tasks
  • Involved with Maintenance for repairs of grinders, shotpeens, cnc deflash and all other finishing equipment.
  • Work with Engineering to manage EOA tooling for robots
  • Maintain and track spare parts required to rebuild and refurbish deflash fixtures, grinders and robots.
  • Work with Engineering to manage robot backups
  • Train and help evaluate Utility Specialist/Set up Technicians. 
  • In addition to the above responsibilities, this position may include but not limited to weekend work, being on call, training of department associates, grinder rebuilds, shotpeen rebuilds, ink jet maintenance and training, tasks or projects to reduce or improve scrap and production as well as any other assigned task not limited to solely the finishing area.

Required Skills and Education

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS/EDUCATION

  • Associate degree in Engineering is preferred, High School Diploma or GED
  • Work experience in the Manufacturing function

EXPERIENCE

  • FINISHING: A working knowledge of rotary deflash machines, double disk grind machines, shot peen process, cnc deflash, ink jet and weight scale systems. One (3) years’ experience in manufacturing finishing operations (5 years’ experience preferred).
