Manufacturing Technician

Job Description Summary

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Manufacturing Technician to support the daily operations and ongoing maintenance needs of our forging facility. This role involves hands-on work in a manufacturing environment, including frequent standing, walking, lifting up to 50 lbs., and occasional hi-lo operation. Candidates must be comfortable working around heavy machinery, in environments with varying temperatures, and loud noises. Mental demands include problem solving, decision making and training.

Technician pay ranges from $21.96/hour with room to grow to $27.85/hour plus shift premiums for second and third shifts.

Job Description

  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance on forging equipment, including hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.

  • Troubleshoot and repair production equipment to minimize downtime and ensure efficient operation.

  • Follow engineering drawings, technical diagrams, and manufacturer instructions to complete tasks accurately.

  • Identify and solve mechanical issues by inspecting and testing equipment while in operation.

  • Remove, repair, or replace faulty components using proper tools such as hoists, cranes, hand and power tools.

  • Measure parts for wear and compliance using calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools.

  • Support the development and maintenance of equipment standards, especially in areas such as lubrication, pneumatics, and hydraulics.

  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, repairs, and inspections.

  • Monitor inventory of tools, parts, and supplies; place orders and verify deliveries as needed.

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to other team members on maintenance procedures and best practices.

  • Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with company policies and procedures.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand, walk, lift, and carry materials throughout the shift.

  • Work takes place in a heavy manufacturing setting with exposure to extreme heat/cold and loud noise.

  • Occasional hi-lo operation required.

  • Role demands strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to make quick decisions under pressure.

Required Skills and Education

  • H.S. Diploma or GED
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to work and off-shift (2nd or 3rd shift)
