Job Description Summary

#TeamAAM is looking for an AOS Leader to join our Driveline team in Three Rivers, Michigan. This is a fully onsite role.

The AOS Leader owns the administration of continuous improvement system (APEX), driving and tracking actions to reduce overall cost and alignment with performance metrics. This person monitors and supports implementation of cost-reduction initiatives and validates savings. They will also ensure compliance with AOS operating system (O4), promote and support the Production Improvement Team (PIT) process. They will coach others on and apply the use of AOS tools & structured problem solving. This person will work with others to optimize flow through facility contributing to established market structure, delivery methods, & material presentation.

The ideal candidate has excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with others. They should also have strong computer skills, such as proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Job Description

  • Leads administration of CI system (APEX) with timely entry and updates.
  • Provides follow-up to initiatives,ensures progress through IL’s per the process.
  • Verifies that completed initiatives have the correct documentation and savings calculations before the initiative is due for review with chain of approvals.
  • Supports and prepares necessary information to make the correct decisions in the system and support weekly and monthly meetings and reviews.
  • Administers the CI Challenge program in the facility following Corporate Guidelines on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis.
  • Leads O4 system deployment, compliance, and reporting.
  • Promotes and supports the PIT process (Production Improvement Team).
  • Coaches on the use of AOS (AAM Operating System) tools when needed for PIT’s and other performance improvements as they apply.
  • Coaches and supports the use of Structured Problem Solving.
  • Contributes to optimizing product and resource flow within the facility.
  • Supports material market sizing, location, and structure.
  • Supports material delivery methods and routes through the plant.
  • Leads improvements for material presentation to production associates (ergo, safety, quality), packaging, racks, flow racks, trees, lift assists, and carts, limiting and best distributing non-cyclical elements.
  • Supports production and other departments (SCM, maintenance, IE/ME, controls, etc.) with AOS tools, workshops, problem-solving, and process improvements.
  • Promotes the AOS System at the Three Rivers Manufacturing Facility (TRMF) and satellite plants.
  • Leads other associates within the work group, and communicates and collaborates with others inside and outside of the work group.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or other relevant field.
  • 3-5+ years of relevant work experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment, preferably within the automotive field.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes.
