Job Description:
Reviews, approves, and monitors all project plans, installations, repairs, and upgrades related to facilities utilities systems, ensuring seamless integration and minimal downtime in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
Develops, implements, and enforces policies, procedures, and best practices that align with company standards, promote safety, regulatory compliance and ensure effective interdependence of utilities systems (power, compressed air, cooling water, and process fluids) across the site.
Leads infrastructure system improvements and capital projects to enhance reliability, energy efficiency, sustainability, and capacity for growing production demands.
Provides long-range and short-range planning for facility space and utilities capacity by maintaining accurate databases; consulting with senior leadership and production teams to assess functional needs; optimizing existing space and utilities; proposing allocation strategies; and developing plans for space or infrastructure acquisition/expansion as needed.
Reviews building plans, modifications, and system designs to ensure they meet technical specifications, safety codes, production requirements, and industry standards.
Collaborates with supervisory personnel, contractors, vendors, owners, and design professionals to discuss and resolve issues related to work procedures, construction challenges, system performance, complaints, or operational disruptions.
Prepares and submits accurate budget estimates, track project costs, monitor utilities consumption, and generate progress reports, cost analyses, and variance explanations.
Conducts inspections and reviews of projects, systems, and installations to ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, environmental standards, and internal quality protocols.
Manages contracts and agreements with suppliers, subcontractors, and service providers for utilities maintenance, repairs, and improvements.
Generates and analyzes reports on work order history, preventive maintenance schedules, equipment performance, and reliability metrics for buildings, utilities equipment (including power systems, air compressors, cooling towers, fluid delivery, and process/cooling water systems), and related infrastructure.
Drives continuous improvement initiatives focused on energy conservation, system optimization, and cost reduction in utilities operations.

Required Skills and Education
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or related field), Facilities Management, or equivalent technical discipline; advanced degree or professional certification.
5+ years of experience in facilities management, utilities operations, or infrastructure leadership within an industrial manufacturing or heavy process environment.
Proven track record leading facilities/utilities teams, managing cross-functional projects, and driving improvements in critical systems such as power distribution, compressed air, cooling towers, process water, fluid handling, and HVAC/cooling infrastructure.
Extensive leadership experience, including supervising technical teams, contractors, and maintenance personnel in a 24/7 operational setting.
Strong knowledge of industrial utilities systems, preventive maintenance strategies, energy management, regulatory compliance (EPA, OSHA, local codes), and project management principles.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, budgeting, and negotiation skills.
Proficiency with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) and utilities monitoring software.
Availability and willingness to work any shift, overtime, and weekends as requested.
