Job Description Summary

#TeamAAM is looking for a Materials Analyst to join our team in Detroit, Michigan.

The Materials Analyst is responsible for managing, monitoring and controlling the procurement shipments and storage of material, ensuring materials are maintained at optimal levels to cover manufacturing while achieving inventory targets, ensuring manufacturing maintains a smooth operation plan with a steady flow of materials, and interacting with / maintaining relationships with suppliers.

The ideal candidate has excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong organization skills. Basic knowledge of Supply Chain Management is preferred.

Job Description

  • Manages supplier ship requirements and window times; communicate with operations and shipping departments. Proactively react to changes.
  • Tracks material replenishment to ensure production coverage.
  • Uses reports to support daily and weekly operations.
  • Helps coordinate and communicate daily build requirements to satisfy build demand and maintain inventory targets while continuing smooth operations.
  • Reviews and maintains supplier forecasts on a weekly basis.
  • Expedites inbound and outbound material by identifying problems and resolutions.
  • Proactively elevates critical supply and delivery issues to management.
  • Uses the supplier scorecard to initiate internal operational improvements and troubleshoot poor performing suppliers; work closely to improve supplier performance.
  • Communicates proactively with suppliers.
  • Follows safety practices.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain or relevant field.
  • 0-3+ years of automotive supply chain experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with a strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
