#TeamAAM is looking for a Shipping/Receiving Supervisor to join our Metal Forming team in Fraser, Michigan.The Shipping/Receiving Supervisor receives, verifies, and processes incoming shipments. They pack and prepare products for shipping. They also review and record incoming shipments and products; checks the condition of contents and alignment with original order. This individual will route or move shipments to the proper departments or storage locations. They will also ensure all shipping/receiving personnel adhere to company and regulatory policy and procedure.

Job Description
- Effectively uses personnel, materials, and equipment within department.
- Supervises associates involved with shipping and receiving, plant build schedules, and movement of material.
- Assures adherence to the material pull system process.
- Provides follow-up assistance in assuring maximum schedule performance.
- Facilitates the self-directed work group contact.
- Maintains department records and keeps management informed of developments as they occur.
- Maintains quality services by establishing and enforcing customer requirements and AAM Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) / Work Instructions.
- Supports and participates in continuous improvement workshops.
- Follows site health, safety, and environmental policies.
- Performs general housekeeping in and around designated area. Knowledge of 5S.
- Communicates effectively to Operations Manager and Plant Manager regularly; keeping them updated on activities and progresses along with any issues that may arise.
- Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
- Leads cycle counts and data integrity.
- Effectively interacts with drivers and customers by exchanging information, engaging others in conversation and responding to questions.
- Schedules and coordinates the efficient distribution of products through the supply chain to satisfy customer demand.
- Manages product inventory to ensure correct inventory levels are kept throughout the supply chain.
- Reviews and maintains inventory reports.
- Leads General Stores.
- All other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Education
Qualifications & Skills:
REQUIRED:
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures as they relate to material flow.
- Availability and willingness to work any shift, overtime, and weekends as requested.
- Working experience with business-related computer systems including Microsoft Office products.
- Able to pass a crane certification test.
- Must show willingness to demonstrate S4 principles in daily job duties.
- Must show attention to detail, maintain a productive attitude and have willingness to take the extra steps needed to ensure the job is done correctly.
PREFERRED:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Logistics or Materials-related field, or equivalent training.
- 3-5 years of production operations experience, particularly in high volume manufacturing.
- Experience in automotive, forging, or similar industries.
- Familiarity with an union environment.
- Operating knowledge of Plexus.
- General Stores experience.
