Shipping & Receiving ClrkJob Description Summary
AAM-Ridgway is looking for a motivate individual to fill the role of Shipping & Receiving Clerk on 2nd shift. This person should be a self starter and able to work with limited supervision. Strong computer skills and the ability to safely operate a forklift and drive the box truck are necessary for success in this role.Job Description
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Accurately weigh and count parts for shipments.
- Operate a forklift for material handling, loading and unloading trucks.
- Pack and label, including bar-coding, products properly for our customers and outside vendors.
- Understands A.S.N.'s, how to send, verify, and troubleshoot errors and correct within given window for affected customer.
- Use and understand shipping schedules from QAD and production control. Communicate internally daily with supervisors, associates, and production control, both conventional and forging.
- Communicate daily as needed with customers, logistics personnel, and carriers. Are responsible and accountable for the accuracy and quality of all job related responsibilities.
- Be trained in and work to all related work instructions.
- Work in a safe manner at all times.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Fork Truck Training/ License.
- Ability to handle cartons weighing up to approx. 70 lbs.
- Work overtime as required.
- Work in a team based environment, be self-motivated, have good organizational skills, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Good math and communication skills.
- Able to handle multiple tasks.
- Learn proper use of scales for weighing and counting parts.
- Strong computer skills desired for this role
- Ability to drive a larger commercial vehicle
Required Skills and Education
- Experience is welcomed but not necessary.
- Self-Motivation: Ability to work independently and initiate tasks without direct supervision.
- Computer Proficiency: Strong skills in using inventory management and shipping software.
- Forklift Operation: Competency in safely operating a forklift.
- Attention to Detail: Ensuring accuracy in shipping and receiving tasks.
- Time Management: Efficiently handling multiple tasks and meeting deadlines.
- Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication for reporting and coordination.
- Problem-Solving Abilities: Quickly addressing and resolving any issues that arise in the shipping and receiving process.
- Physical Stamina: Capability to perform tasks that may require physical activity, such as lifting and moving goods.
- Organizational Skills: Maintaining a well-organized work environment and managing inventory effectively.
- Safety Awareness: Adhering to all safety regulations and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
