Job Description Summary

At a senior level, manages the financial record keeping, reporting, tax filing, and other accounting functions for the organization.Ensuring the accounting policies and practices of the organization are followed; working closely with internal auditors, public accountants, federal tax examiners, and other financial professionals; ensuring that practices are in line with the overall goals of the organization.Overseeing and evaluating the activities of the accounting staff, and providing for their professional development; analyzing and solving accounting problems.Preparing or leading preparation of reports that summarize and forecast business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings, based on past, present, and expected operations.Producing accurate and timely financial reports, for internal and external use.

Controller - Plant, El Carmen Manufacturing Facility

Job Summary:
The Plant Controller at El Carmen Manufacturing Facility is responsible for overseeing all financial operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and providing strategic financial guidance to support plant objectives and drive operational efficiency.

Job Responsibilities:
* Manage and supervise all aspects of plant accounting, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
* Prepare and analyze financial statements, forecasts, budgets, and variance reports, identifying trends and recommending corrective actions.
* Develop and implement robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with corporate policies and GAAP.
* Lead the annual budgeting process for the manufacturing facility, collaborating with departmental managers to establish realistic and achievable financial targets.
* Monitor and analyze manufacturing costs, including labor, material, and overhead, to identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.
* Provide financial analysis and insights to plant management for decision-making related to production planning, capital expenditures, and operational initiatives.
* Oversee inventory valuation and reconciliation, ensuring accuracy and proper accounting treatment.
* Coordinate and facilitate internal and external audits, ensuring timely and accurate responses to auditor requests.
* Manage cash flow and working capital effectively to optimize financial performance.
* Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering a high-performing and collaborative team environment.
* Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal financial regulations and tax requirements.

Required Skills and Education

Job Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification preferred.
* Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance roles.
* Proven experience as a Plant Controller or in a similar leadership finance role within a manufacturing setting.
* Strong understanding of GAAP and cost accounting principles.
* Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with all levels of the organization.
* Demonstrated leadership and team management capabilities.
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing environment.
* English
