AAM is searching for a Senior Quality Engineer to join our team. This position will be based out of our Twinsburg location in Twinsburg, OH.The Senior Quality Engineer ensures that products and processes consistently meet customer, company, and regulatory quality standards. This position plays a key role in identifying root causes, leading corrective actions, and partnering closely with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement. This position is highly analytical and engineering-focused, using data and statistical tools to diagnose issues, implement sustainable process improvements, and prevent reoccurrence.
The ideal candidate will have casting or foundry experience, the ability to present data clearly, influence cross-functional teams, and interact tactfully with customers. This person will also have a proven ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and drive initiatives with minimal direction.
Job Description
Lead and participate in problem-solving activities using data analysis, statistical methods, and structured root-cause tools (5-Why, Fishbone, DOE, etc.).
Perform and interpret statistical capability studies, process capability analyses, and reliability testing to evaluate product and process performance.
Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and operations teams to identify process deficiencies and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Support and maintain compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and customer-specific quality requirements.
Lead or participate in PFMEA reviews, control plan development, and layered process audits (LPA) to ensure proactive quality assurance throughout production.
Manage and analyze nonconformances, deviations, and rework; track metrics and trends to recommend improvement initiatives.
Participate in internal and external quality audits; ensure audit findings are addressed and closed effectively.
Prepare and present data-driven reports for management and customer communication, articulating technical issues in a professional and diplomatic manner.
Partner with customer representatives to review findings, provide updates, and support resolution of quality concerns in a tactful, relationship-focused way.

Required Skills and Education
Bachelor’s degree in Quality Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related technical field.
7+ years of quality engineering experience
Proficiency in statistical analysis and process capability tools (SPC, Minitab, Weibull, DOE, etc.).
Hands-on experience with PFMEA, control plans, IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and layered process audits.
Strong understanding of root-cause analysis, corrective action, and continuous improvement methodologies.
