Job Description Summary

#TeamAAM is looking for a Quality Engineer to join our team in Fort Wayne, IN on first shift.

The Quality Engineer ensures that the products or services meet established quality standards and regulatory requirements. This role involves monitoring and improving production processes, identifying areas of improvement, and ensuring that the Quality Management system is effective. The Quality Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.

Job Description

  • Quality Control: Develop and implement quality standards and procedures to ensure product quality meets or exceeds customer expectations.
  • Inspection & Testing: Conduct inspections and tests on raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products to identify defects and non-conformances. Complete capability studies.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Analyze product or process failures, determine root causes, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Continuous Improvement: Lead and participate in continuous improvement activities, such as Six Sigma, Lean, Shainin Red X or other quality methodologies.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Prepare detailed reports on quality performance, inspections, and audit results. Maintain accurate records of all quality-related activities.
  • PPAP, Review and prepare all documents for PPAP requirements. Attend/Lead APQP.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with industry standards (IATF, Q^4) and company policies.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain teams to ensure product quality is maintained throughout the production lifecycle.
  • Training & Support: Provide training on quality standards, procedures, and best practices to production staff and other departments.
  • All other duties as assigned

Required Skills and Education

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2+ years’ experience in quality engineering or quality control role in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of quality standards, inspection methods, and quality improvement tools (e.g., root cause analysis, Six Sigma, FMEA, ).
  • Proficiency with quality management software and tools. (Excel, Mini Tab, MS office)
  • Experience with internal and external audits ( LPA )

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
  • 5+ years' of experience in quality engineering or quality control role in a manufacturing environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for report preparation and collaboration across teams.
