Job Description Summary

Makes plants more productive and efficient by leading the design and implementation of new or improved technologies, systems, and processes.Leads analysis of operating environment; looks for and identifies process inefficiencies and wastes of time, money, materials, and energy. Conducts comprehensive time and motion studies.Develops and evaluates complex pilot programs, simulations, and prototypes. Develops and implements new and enhanced processes and tools. Designs the complex layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.Analyzes and plans workforce utilization, space requirements, and workflow.Oversees less experienced engineers in conceptualizing improvements, developing business cases, as well as presenting to management and conducting capability studies.

Job Summary

The Senior Continuous Improvement Engineer will lead and support the implementation of Lean, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement initiatives across the El Carmen Manufacturing Facility. This role focuses on optimizing manufacturing processes, reducing waste, and improving overall operational efficiency and product quality.

Job Responsibilities

* Identify, analyze, and implement continuous improvement opportunities within manufacturing processes, including production, logistics, and quality control.
* Lead and facilitate continuous improvement projects using methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, Value Stream Mapping, and Kaizen events.
* Develop and deliver training programs on continuous improvement principles and tools to all levels of the organization.
* Utilize data analysis and statistical methods to identify root causes of inefficiencies and propose effective solutions.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Production, Quality, Maintenance, Engineering) to ensure successful project implementation and sustainment of improvements.
* Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the effectiveness of continuous improvement initiatives and report on progress to management.
* Act as a mentor and coach to junior engineers and operational staff on continuous improvement best practices.
* Support the development and maintenance of a continuous improvement culture throughout the facility.
* Stay current with industry best practices and emerging continuous improvement methodologies.
* Prepare detailed project plans, reports, and presentations for various stakeholders.

Required Skills and Education

Job Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical, or related field required).
* Master's degree in a relevant field or MBA is a plus.
* Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in continuous improvement roles within a manufacturing environment.
* Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification is required.
* Proven track record of successfully leading and implementing significant continuous improvement projects with demonstrable results.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in statistical analysis software (e.g., Minitab, JMP).
* Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with all levels of the organization.
* Demonstrated ability to train, mentor, and lead teams.
* Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies.
* Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment, and quality systems.
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
