Job Summary:The Straightener Technician is responsible for manually straightening axle shafts to meet quality and dimensional specifications. This role involves operating manual straightening equipment, following detailed work instructions, and performing inspections to ensure product alignment within tolerances.

Key Responsibilities:
Axle Shaft Straightening
- Utilize manual straightening equipment to adjust axle shafts, ensuring they meet specifications as outlined in Work Instructions (OF-04-W014).
- Review and adhere to the latest revision (Rev. 8) of work instructions for manual straightening procedures.
Quality Inspection
- Perform measurements and visual inspections to verify shaft alignment and correct any deviations.
- Ensure that all straightened shafts meet dimensional and quality standards before proceeding to the next stage of production.
Documentation and Compliance
- Record each operation as required in the production documentation.
- Follow all health, safety, and environmental standards while working with straightening equipment and in the work area.
Equipment Maintenance
- Conduct regular maintenance checks on straightening tools and equipment to ensure safe operation.
- Report any issues or malfunctions to the supervisor immediately.
Continuous Improvement
- Suggest process improvements to enhance efficiency and product quality within the manual straightening operations.
Required Skills and Education
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a manufacturing or production environment, with experience in manual equipment operation preferred.
- Skills:
- Ability to read and interpret work instructions and quality standards.
- Strong attention to detail and precision in handling axle shaft adjustments.
- Basic knowledge of manual equipment maintenance and inspection techniques.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift, bend, and perform repetitive tasks.
- Comfortable working in a production environment with manual equipment.
