• The Sustainability Manager (m/w/d) will be responsible for implementing AAM’s LCA (Lifecycle Assessment) strategy across all manufacturing locations in Europe.
• This includes applying LCA practices to AAM’s product portfolio, supply chain and customers, while operating in changing regulatory environments.
• The position requires detailed knowledge and experience in LCA to support a range of related activities.
• The ideal candidate (m/w/d) will support our Regional Sustainability Manager (m/w/d) to implement and drive AAM’s sustainability journey across all manufacturing locations worldwide.
• Ideally the Sustainability Manager (m/w/d) is a strategic thinker, meticulous and resourceful while having a talent for tactical implementation and operational excellence.

Required Skills and Education

DEUTSCH

• Master-Abschluss in Ingenieurwissenschaften, Naturwissenschaften oder einem verwandten Bereich (erforderlich), Promotion (bevorzugt)
• Mindestens 7 Jahre Berufserfahrung, nachgewiesener Erfolge bei der Erstellung von Ökobilanzen, Product Carbon Footprints und anderen Nachhaltigkeitsinitiativen
• Erfahrung in der Fertigung oder im industriellen Umfeld (bevorzugt)
• Ausgezeichnete Fähigkeiten in den Bereichen Projektmanagement, Analyse und strategische Planung
• Erfahrung in der Leitung funktionsübergreifender Teams
• Verständnis der internationalen Gesetze im Zusammenhang mit Ökobilanzen, die sich auf das Unternehmen auswirken können
• Fähigkeit, Bewertungsergebnisse (intern und extern) zu interpretieren, zu dokumentieren und zu kommunizieren, um Strategie, Marketing, Kommunikation und Compliance zu unterstützen
• Fähigkeit zur Kommunikation komplexer Informationen an nicht-technische Zielgruppen und zur Anleitung aller Ebenen innerhalb der Organisation
• Umfassende Kenntnisse im Umgang mit MS-Office 365 (Teams, Excel, PowerPoint), gute Kenntnisse von High-Level-Modellierungswerkzeugen
• Gutes Deutsch und Englisch in Wort und Schrift

ENGLISH

• Master’s degree in engineering, science or a related field (required), PhD (preferred)
• At least 7 years of professional experience, including demonstrated success in completing LCAs, Product Carbon Footprints and other sustainability initiatives
• Manufacturing or industrial environment experience (preferred)
• Excellent project management, analytical and strategic planning skills
• Experience leading cross-functional teams
• Understanding of international laws related to LCA that may impact the company
• Ability to interpret, document and communicate assessment results (internally and externally) to inform on strategy, marketing, communication and compliance needs
• Ability to communicate complex information to non-technical audiences and provide guidance to all levels within the organization
• Extensive user knowledge of MS-Office 365 (Teams, Excel, PowerPoint), strong knowledge of high-level modeling tools
• Good written and spoken German and English
