Quality AuditorJob Description Summary
The Quality Auditor is responsible for managing, tracking, and organizing technical and quality documentation for automotive manufacturing and development projects. This role ensures all documents are up-to-date, properly stored, and compliant with internal standards and external regulations such as Q^4, IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and customer-specific requirements.Job Description
- Control and manage documents for engineering, production, and quality departments.
- Maintain and update document control databases and systems (e.g., Plex, PLM, Oracle software).
- Ensure all documents meet company and industry standards, including version control and change management.
- Distribute controlled documents to internal departments and external suppliers/customers when necessary.
- Ensure timely retrieval of documents for audits, project reviews, or production use.
- Support new product launches (PPAP, APQP) and Engineering Change Management (ECM) processes by managing document updates.
- Archive obsolete documents following retention policies.
- Assist in the preparation of documentation for quality audits (e.g., IATF 16949-Q^4).
- Coordinate with engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure document accuracy and consistency.
- Train staff on document control processes and systems as needed.
- Create audit schedules and maintain adherence.
- QMS lead auditor
Required Skills and Education
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in document control, preferably in the automotive or manufacturing industry.
- AIAG core processes.
- Familiarity with automotive quality systems (IATF 16949, ISO 9001).
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and document management software (e.g., SharePoint, Plex, Parsable, Smart LPA).
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
