Job Description Summary

The Quality Auditor is responsible for managing, tracking, and organizing technical and quality documentation for automotive manufacturing and development projects. This role ensures all documents are up-to-date, properly stored, and compliant with internal standards and external regulations such as Q^4, IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and customer-specific requirements.

Job Description

  • Control and manage documents for engineering, production, and quality departments.
  • Maintain and update document control databases and systems (e.g., Plex, PLM, Oracle software).
  • Ensure all documents meet company and industry standards, including version control and change management.
  • Distribute controlled documents to internal departments and external suppliers/customers when necessary.
  • Ensure timely retrieval of documents for audits, project reviews, or production use.
  • Support new product launches (PPAP, APQP) and Engineering Change Management (ECM) processes by managing document updates.
  • Archive obsolete documents following retention policies.
  • Assist in the preparation of documentation for quality audits (e.g., IATF 16949-Q^4).
  • Coordinate with engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure document accuracy and consistency.
  • Train staff on document control processes and systems as needed.
  • Create audit schedules and maintain adherence.
  • QMS lead auditor

Required Skills and Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in document control, preferably in the automotive or manufacturing industry.
  • AIAG core processes.
  • Familiarity with automotive quality systems (IATF 16949, ISO 9001).
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and document management software (e.g., SharePoint, Plex, Parsable, Smart LPA).
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
