#TeamAAM is looking for a Coordinator Manufacturing Engineering to join our Metal Forming team in Auburn Hills, Michigan. This is a fully onsite role.The Coordinator ME leads a team of manufacturing engineers and technicians to drive projects ranging from quoting new business to commissioning manufacturing lines necessary to support the needs of internal and external customers. This person is responsible for implementing lathe, mill, and gear cutting techniques, processes, tooling, and machinery to maximize throughput and optimize cost.
The ideal candidate has strong interpersonal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively and collaborate with others. This person should be a highly motivated problem solver, organized planner, and independent individual who can oversee and organize multiple projects effectively with minimal supervision. Preferred qualifications include robot and PLC programming experience, as well as Six sigma green belt certification.

Job Description
Actively designs, develops, and maintains manufacturing processes for automotive driveline and powertrain components to achieve safe and efficient operations.
Develops manufacturing equipment purchase proposals (scope of work) by studying part quality requirements, manufacturing technology, customer demand, manufacturing process plan, identifying suitable vendors, technical capabilities, floorspace, capacity, and runoff requirements.
Leads part quote preparation by providing investment plan and part cost estimates.
Prepares CAPEX projections and appropriation requests to justify capital investment.
Guides team to collaborate with all stakeholders to install equipment.
Ensures processes meet AAM safety standards and implement countermeasures as needed.
Supports capacity uplifts by designing equipment and process modifications as needed.
Prepares workforce by conducting training, providing reference and support resources.
·Monitors and reports tool performance, optimize tool life and balance tool change frequency with the goal of reducing tooling cost per unit.
Guides team members to monitor and report production scrap and implement projects to maintain scrap within budget.
Involves in daily production issues to identify and solve problems using 8D’s, 5 Why’s and similar systematic problem-solving methods.
Maintains process integrity by managing process documentation such as in-process drawings, routings, PFMEA, Control Plans, tool layouts, and work instructions.
Performs quality audits to ensure AAM quality standards are met.
Leads design of tools and work holding using CAD/CAM (AutoCAD and NX) experience.
Establishes statistical process control (SPC) of critical features and processes, monitors results, determines machine and process capabilities, and performance reliability.
Creates, develops, and maintains error-proofing controls, complex inline/offline gages, rabbits, challenge parts, correlation parts, and related documentation to ensure reliable operation.
Collaborates with suppliers and stakeholders to manage internal and external technical resources.
Tracks and maintains automation performance to achieve material handling goals.
Works with operations to meet and exceed OEE expectations.
Directs plant/corporate IE to prepare budget, meet and improve capacity, material handling, and packaging requirements.
Works with advanced/corporate engineering and sales to support prototype projects.
Specifies and maintains coolant and lubricants to maintain optimal performance.
All other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, or combination of relevant education and experience.
5+ years of relevant work experience in a high-volume automated CNC machining environment.
Experience with Fanuc and Siemens CNC.
Proficient in AutoCAD, NX/SolidWorks, and MasterCAM or equivalent software.
Proficient in Statistical Process Control, data analysis, and Minitab.
