Job Description Summary

Metaldyne M & A Bluffton LLC has openings for Coordinators Quality APQP at its facility in Bluffton, IN.

Job Description

1. Establishing methods and systems to assure that product quality and customer specific requirements (IATF) are maintained using ISO9001 and IATF 16949

2. Assessment(s) of new product prior to start of production in coordination with manufacturing engineer and production personnel per APQP, PPAP, AIAG and IPM standards.

3. Developing and analyzing control plans and process sheets to identify areas of potential problems and process failures utilizing FMEA guidelines and historical warranty failures of similar product with manufacturing engineering and plant Quality Engineering Manager.

4. Assess processes to assure that all blueprint characteristics and specifications will be maintained per GD&T and AIAG guidelines.

5. Analyzing statistical gauge data by utilizing MSA standards and product specifications to establish appropriate gauge development, calibration and verification process based on repeatability and reliability objectives of finished product.

6. Recommending modifications to existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability.

7. Research reliability data to support statistical process control by using mean time before failure, Weibull 3-parameter or best fit distribution, reliability modeling, and zone charting, X2 charts for distributions or individual-media/range for multi-stream processes

Required Skills and Education

Position requires:  Bachelor’s Degree in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, or related degree, or foreign equivalent degree, and 3 years’ experience working in the automotive field in the position of Quality Engineer, APQP Engineer or other quality engineering position.  3 years’ experience is required in each of the following:

1. Modify quality or production standards based on equipment capability to make improvements. 

2. Working with ISO 9001 and IATF16949.  

3. Working with FMEA, control plans and statistical process control.  

4. Lead implementation and improvement of APQP, PPAP, AIAG and IPM standards.

5. GD&T drawing interpretation.

6. Lead gauging development, calibration, and verification process utilizing MSA standards.

Experience may be obtained concurrently.
