Job Description Summary

Responsible for daily compacting press setup operations. Process lead for Powdered Metal Presses. Responsible for checking parts and submitting parts to inspectors for Approval.

Job Description

  • Operating knowledge of Cincinnati 550 ton presses
  • Build and update process sheets for PM Compacting Presses
  • Meet with Scheduling, engineering and quality departments daily
  • Update Master Reference Setup Sheets through procedure
  • Work with Engineering during new product development stages
  • Complete Operation Productivity & Scrap sheets and verify for accuracy
  • Process improvement projects as assigned
  • Submit pieces for PPAP or Set-up approval
  • Does record keeping vital for process setup
  • Performs tool life studies as needed
  • Assembles vital inspection equipment
  • Helps operators, area leaders and maintenance trouble shoot operation of equipment
  • Train and evaluate Mold Operators
  • Maintain and report status of supplies at the operation line and inventory levels
  • Keeps tools and supplies organized according to shop-floor criteria
  • Reviews all tool breakage reports
  • Operates compacting press as customer demand dictates and as assigned by the supervisor
  • Release product to the next operation by following detailed instructions
  • Stop production for nonconforming or suspect product
  • Identify and record problems
  • Recommend solutions to problems through channels

Required Skills and Education

  • 5 years related work experience in a manufacturing setting
  • Die setting
  • Ability to work 3rd shift
