Job Description Summary

Support quality control operations using Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), gage calibration management, and final product audits. This position plays a critical role in ensuring our products meet all internal and customer specifications before shipment.

Job Description

CMM Operations:

  • Program, set up, and operate CMM equipment to inspect parts and components.
  • Interpret blueprints, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and technical specifications.
  • Analyze and document inspection results, ensuring data accuracy and compliance with standards.
  • Communicate any non-conformance findings to engineering and quality teams.
  • Perform annual layout inspections.

Gage Room Management:

  • Maintain and manage the calibration schedule for all measurement tools and equipment.
  • Ensure proper storage, handling, and use of gages in accordance with internal procedures and industry standards.
  • Coordinate with external calibration service providers when needed.
  • Maintain accurate calibration records and ensure traceability.
  • Perform Gage R&R according to schedule stablished.
  • Perform annual layout inspections.

Final Audit:

  • Perform final inspections and audits of finished goods to verify conformance to customer requirements.
  • Use appropriate measuring tools, visual inspection methods, and documentation to ensure quality.
  • Support containment and traceability activities in case of non-conformance detection.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Skills and Education

  • High school diploma. Degree or certification in metrology, manufacturing technology, or quality preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a quality technician role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity in CMM programming and operation (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso, or similar software).
  • Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, GD&T, and ISO/IATF 16949 quality systems.
  • Familiarity with measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, height gages, and indicators.
  • Good communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
