#TeamAAM is looking for a Quality Engineer to join our team in Bolingbrook, IL on first shift.Ensures that products being built and processes being used adhere to all standards and requirements. Monitors engineering processes and products for adherence to company and regulatory standards and practices. Participates in quality-improvement initiatives and projects. Performs quality reviews and internal audits; evaluates data and writes reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards. Analyzes statistical data and product specifications to determine standards and establish quality and reliability objectives of finished product. Recommends modifications to existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability.
Job Description
- Design and implement quality processes and systems.
- Managed all aspects of customers PPAP, submissions and follow ups.
- Perform proactive risk assessment activities, including PFMEA.
- Utilize established (G8D, 5 Why’s, C&E Diagrams) problem solving techniques.
- Develop quality standards and metrics.
- Perform calibration and close tolerance inspection of complex manufactured gages, components, and sub-assemblies.
- Train and monitor lower-level technicians in accordance with position HRQR’s.
- Maintain product hold area, disposition parts, maintain appropriate documentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production and development in gauging, new/revised documents and SPC.
- Update Statistical Information system to reflect accurate Process Control data and documentation of findings.
- Assist with QS documentation & proficient with Minitab software to perform process capability studies, GR&R’s etc.
- Develop and implement Quality systems and processes to assure continued conformance to requirements and to advance Continuous Improvements efforts in order to make systems and procedures more effective and efficient.
- Develop documents linked to Process Flows, Control Plans, & PFMEAs and customer requirements.
- Create work instructions of gages/processes & train all supervisors and associates on all 3 shifts.
- Analyze quality data and identify areas for improvement.
- Conduct internal audits per audit schedule.
Required Skills and Education
Basic Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience as a Quality Engineer in a Manufacturing environment
- High School Diploma or GED
- Experienced with ISO/IATF standards, executing quality plans accordingly.
- Familiar with control plans, process control activities, and root cause analysis.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Experience leading a team
- Experience using Plex
This position has an estimated pay range of $70,000 to $95,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications. In addition, this role is eligible for an annual target bonus of 7.5% based on individual and company performance.
