Associate Quality EngineerJob Description Summary
Ensures that products being built and processes being used adhere to all standards and requirements. Monitors engineering processes and products for adherence to company and regulatory standards and practices. Participates in quality-improvement initiatives and projects. Performs quality reviews and internal audits; evaluates data and writes reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards. Recommends modifications to existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability.Job Description
- Communicate effectively with supervised employees to ensure they perform according to documented Work Instructions.
- Experienced with ISO/IATF standards, executing quality plans accordingly
- Knowledgeable and experienced with control plans, process control activities, and root cause analysis.
- Managed all aspects of customers PPAP, submissions and follow ups
- Performed product and process risk assessment activities including PFMEA
- Experience performing calibration and close tolerance inspection of complex manufactured gages, components, and sub-assemblies
- Conduct and monitor training of employees to ensure employees performing duties that affect Quality have been qualified in accordance with position HRQR’s.
- Train employees in new/revised documents, gauging and SPC
- Maintain product hold area, disposition parts, maintain appropriate documentation.
- Work with supervision to identify, eliminate or reduce special cause variation to achieve process stability
- Assist with maintaining Statistical Information system. Use statistical Process Control data to report and to control the production process.
- Assist with QS documentation & proficient with Minitab software to perform process capability studies, GR&R’s etc.
- Enforce established (G8D, 5 Why’s, C&E Diagrams) problem solving techniques.
- Develop and implement Quality systems and processes to assure continued conformance to requirements and to advance Continuous Improvements efforts in order to make systems and procedures more effective and efficient.
- Develop documents linked to Process Flows, Control Plans, & PFMEAs and customer requirements.
- Coordinate special projects
- Create work instructions of gages/processes& train all supervisors and associates on all 3 shifts.
- Review ability to work on top scrap items to reduce scrap percentage to meet scrap goals and record necessary data.
- Weekly production reporting
- Conduct internal audits per audit schedule.
Required Skills and Education
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or related field
- 3+ years of Quality Experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Experience using Plex preferred.
- Experience using quality tools ( gauges, calipers, micrometer)
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
This position has an estimated pay range of $70,000 to $95,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications. In addition, this role is eligible for an annual target bonus of 5% based on individual and company performance.
