Job Description Summary

#TeamAAM is looking for a Receptionist / Badging Representative to support daily clerical and security functions at AAM’s Visitor Center in Detroit, MI.

Job Description

  • Greets and welcomes guests upon arrival of the office.
  • Directs visitors to the appropriate associate.
  • Answers, screens, and forwards incoming phone calls.
  • Ensures the reception area is tidy and presentable, with all necessary stationery and materials (e.g., pens, forms, brochures).
  • Provides basic and accurate information in person and via phone/email.
  • Maintains office security by following security procedures and controlling access via the reception desk (monitor logbook, issue visitor badges).
  • Operates badging system and Visitor Center reception under the supervision and direction from AAM Global Security.
  • Assists associates, contractors, tenants, and contingent workers with obtaining proper access badges.
  • Follows all processes and guidelines when creating and distributing access badges. Removes access privileges and deactivate badge profiles for terminated staff.
  • Removes access privileges from contractor staff when access is no longer granted.Identifies issues with badging processes and equipment and reports them to AAM Global Security.
  • Tracks badges issued to new associates and contractors.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned by AAM Global Security.

Required Skills and Education

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 2+ years of experience as a receptionist in a corporate environment.
  • 1+ year(s) of experience with badging system administration.
  • Strong ability to effectively interact with a diverse team and manage a fast-paced work environment with rapidly changing priorities and peak periods.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Products, including Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Willingness and ability to work overtime (including extended hours and weekends) if needed.
  • Experience with Honeywell ProWatch or similar Access Control Systems preferred.
