Job Description

- Learning about all of AAMs products (axles, prop shafts, PTUs, transfer cases, RDMs, etc.) from the aspect of what went wrong.
- Investigation of why the parts had issues in the field or just did not meet the customer’s satisfaction.
- Pulling Customer Warranty data so we can track each month what parts were returned to the dealerships by cost, labor codes and cases.
- Interfacing with cross-functional teams throughout AAM both Corporate and Plant (Product Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Gear Lab Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, etc.).
- Physically tearing down the parts to see what caused the warranty issue.
- Documenting root cause and corrective action plans.
- Helping to put together presentations (with back-up evidence) to explain to our plants and other staff areas how our parts are performing in the field.

Required Skills and Education

- Pursuing undergraduate or graduate degree at an accredited university
- Major preferred: Mechanical Engineering.

- Graduation date of April 2026 or later.
- 3.0 GPA required.
- Candidate must be able to work 25 – 40 hours a week year round.
- Must be interested in pursuing a career in the automotive industry.
- Technical / Industrial knowledge and/or experience preferred.
- High level of analytical ability.
- Computer Expertise (Microsoft Word, Excel, Power-point, Access, etc.)
- High level of oral and written communication skills. Proficiency in a foreign language strongly  preferred.
- High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others.
