Job Description Summary

The Suppliers Quality Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the quality of purchased components and materials from external suppliers, playing a critical role in maintaining El Carmen Manufacturing Facility's high product standards.

Job Responsibilities

* Develop, implement, and monitor supplier quality programs and processes to ensure compliance with company and industry standards.
* Conduct supplier audits, assessments, and qualifications to evaluate quality systems, manufacturing capabilities, and overall performance.
* Collaborate with purchasing, engineering, and manufacturing teams to define quality requirements for new components and materials.
* Investigate and resolve supplier quality issues, including non-conformances, corrective actions, and preventative measures.
* Manage the Supplier Corrective Action Request (SCAR) process, ensuring timely and effective resolution of supplier quality problems.
* Monitor key supplier quality performance metrics, analyze data, and provide regular reports to management.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives with suppliers to enhance quality, reduce defects, and optimize costs.
* Participate in new product development projects to ensure supplier readiness and adherence to quality expectations.
* Maintain comprehensive records of supplier performance, audits, and quality related documentation.

Required Skills and Education

Job Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Engineering (e.g., Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing) or a related technical field.
* 3-5 years of experience in a quality engineering role, with a strong focus on supplier quality management in a manufacturing environment.
* Proven experience conducting supplier audits and assessments (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949).
* Strong understanding of quality methodologies and tools (e.g., FMEA, PPAP, APQP, SPC, 8D problem-solving).
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach.
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
* Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills for effective supplier and internal team collaboration.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
* Ability to travel to supplier sites as required.
