Job Description Summary

Leads the organization's accounting activities, including financial record keeping and reporting.Maintaining records of organization's financial activity in accordance with GAAP, organizational standards, and in compliance with Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.Creating reports on financial performance for internal and external use.Completing month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities related to foreign exchange, cash management, and tax, including preparing the appropriate audit work papers for such activities.Supporting and assisting junior accounting staff in the development of their professional skills.

Job Description

  • Support the organization’s accounting activities, including financial record keeping, reporting, and compliance with GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley Act (Section 404).
  • Maintain and analyze records of financial activity, preparing reports on performance for internal and external use.
  • Complete month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities, including financial variance analysis and account reconciliations.
  • Assist in the development of monthly financial forecasts, annual budgets, and long-range financial plans.
  • Identify trends in financial performance and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Coordinate with the finance team to review and present financial information.
  • Prepare materials for monthly operating unit reviews and group meetings.
  • Support internal and external audit requests and control testing activities.
  • Participate in projects to improve the quality and timeliness of financial processes.
  • Assist operating departments in analyzing and interpreting financial and operational data.
  • Maintain product structures and routings related to cost elements and develop labor/overhead rates.
  • Coordinate quarterly physical inventories.
  • Process journal entries and assist with month-end/year-end closing activities.
  • Post and review daily variance activity for the local facility and analyze variances from budget/prior year activity.
  • Compile and maintain CIP detail records.
  • Activity based costing and quoting process involvement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Skills and Education

Education:

  • 4 Year College Degree, majoring in accounting or finance

Experience:

  • 5 years of experience in Accounting/Finance; Manufacturing / Automotive Industry preferred

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Knowledge and experience with financial statements and accounting systems
  • High level of personal computer skills, experienced with Microsoft Office and Excel
  • High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Self-starter with an attention to detail
  • Proven analytical ability and problem-solving skills
  • Eager to learn and open-minded
  • Works with Safety as a priority
