Job Description Summary

The Labor Relations Leader is responsible for developing and implementing labor relations strategies that align with company objectives and Mexican labor laws. This role ensures a positive and productive work environment by fostering strong relationships with employees, unions, and relevant labor authorities. The position requires expertise in labor law compliance, collective bargaining, conflict resolution, and employee relations to minimize labor risks and promote a culture of fairness and respect

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Labor Relations & Compliance

Ensure compliance with Mexican labor laws, collective bargaining agreements, and company policies.

Monitor and interpret labor legislation changes, providing recommendations for necessary company adaptations.

Represent the company in labor disputes, conciliations, and negotiations with unions, government agencies, and external stakeholders.

Union & Employee Relations

Develop and maintain strong relationships with labor unions, employee representatives, and key stakeholders.

Lead and participate in collective bargaining negotiations, ensuring alignment with business objectives.

Address grievances, complaints, and disputes proactively, facilitating effective conflict resolution strategies.

Promote open communication between management and employees to foster a positive work environment.

Strategy & Policy Development

Develop and implement labor relations strategies (NOM-035) to mitigate risks and enhance employee engagement.

Advise management on labor relations matters, providing guidance on handling disciplinary actions, terminations, and workforce restructuring.

Conduct training sessions for HR and leadership teams on labor relations best practices and legal compliance.

Reporting & Documentation

Maintain accurate records of labor relations activities, including grievance resolutions, disciplinary actions, and negotiations.

Prepare reports and analysis on labor trends, workforce challenges, and potential risks for senior management.

Budget management.

Required Skills and Education

Qualifications & Requirements:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in law, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in labor relations, union negotiations, or a similar HR role in Mexico.

Knowledge: In-depth understanding of Mexican labor laws, collective bargaining processes, and HR best practices.

Skills:

              •            Strong negotiation and conflict resolution abilities.

              •            Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

              •            Analytical mindset with problem-solving capabilities.

              •            Ability to work under pressure and handle sensitive labor matters with discretion.

              •            Languages: English proficiency is a plus.

              •            Certifications according with the area.
