Manages the day-to-day operations of manufacturing facilities.Defines, monitors, and is held responsible for overall operations performance. Implements production, cost, and quality-control mechanisms.Oversees operations, ensuring that schedules and performance requirements are met and system resources are used effectively.Manages staffing, development, and performance management programs for operations staff; manages, motivates, and develops management team.Manages relationships with business, sales, and engineering; defines, delivers, and manages required service levels. Coordinates strategies, communications, and joint initiatives for facility.Job Description
- Manages product and operations associate outcomes by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining associates; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation actions; enforcing policies and procedures.
- Achieves product and operations operational objectives by contributing information and analysis to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, customer-service, safety, security, and health standards; identifying and resolving problems; completing audits; identifying, developing, and implementing system improvements.
- Contributes to product and operations management and organization success by welcoming related, different, and new requests; helping others accomplish job results.
- Determines Plant priorities by reviewing customer orders and requirements; analyzing equipment, materials, and associate availability; coordinating schedules with sales and warehousing; issuing processing plans and schedules.
- Coordinates Plant processing priorities by reviewing processing output and new requirements.
- Resolves processing scheduling problems by analyzing reports; reviewing equipment, materials, and associate availability; conferring with processing management; developing solutions.
- Prepares processing planning information and reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
- Contributes to plant and organization success by welcoming related, different, and new requests; helping others accomplish job results.
- All other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Education
Basic Qualificaitons:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- 5+ years working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- 5+ years of leadership experience
- Knowledge of Lean Management and Continuous Improvement
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience working in a unionized environment.
- 9+ years working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
