Job Description Summary

Participates in the design, testing, installation, and maintenance of machinery and automation for use in manufacturing. Applications are sophisticated, requiring cross-disciplinary integration and wide application of concepts.

Job Description

  • Design electrical drawings, ladder logic, HMI programs and integrate Safety PLC control systems for machinery and automation.
  • Understanding of robot integration and programming.
  • Support plant maintenance team.
  • Understanding of safety in a manufacturing environment and how it applies to controls.
  • Work with equipment suppliers and ensure compliance with AAM equipment specifications.
  • Evaluate new equipment by performing testing procedures.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical and fluid power systems.
  • Experience with AutoCad Electrical.
  • Work effectively on a team and in individual situations.
  • Experience with Allen Bradley PLC, Servo Controllers, HMI products, Fanuc CNC’s and Vision software, Siemans Control and Ethernet Network.
  • Understanding of safety in a manufacturing environment and how it applies to controls design.
  • Keeps equipment operating by performing periodic audits; troubleshooting breakdowns; requesting supplies; defining and reviewing preventive maintenance plans; calling for repairs; and implementing process improvements.
  • Works on multiple, complex projects with general direction and minimal guidance.
  • Experienced in troubleshooting.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Education

  • 3+ years’ experience in controls engineering position.
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, or related field from an accredited college/university or Trade School or equivalent work experience.
  • 1 - year of experience in Allen Bradley PLC’s, Servo Controllers, HMI products, and software.
  • 1 - year working with CNC troubleshooting
  • Preferred experience working with Fanuc robots, Kuka robots, Allen Bradley​ , and electrical troubleshooting
  • Understanding of NFPA & OSHA regulations.

This position has an estimated pay range of $98,000 to $121,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.  In addition, this role is eligible for an annual target bonus of 7.5% based on individual and company performance.
