Financial Analyst - FP&A

Job Description Summary

Supports the organization's accounting activities, including financial record keeping and reporting. Maintains records of organization's financial activity in accordance with GAAP, organizational standards, and in compliance with Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. Creates reports on financial performance for internal and external use. Completes month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities related to foreign exchange, cash management, and tax, including preparing the appropriate audit work papers for such activities. Supports and assists junior accounting staff in the development of their professional skills.

Job Description

• Consolidates all key plant finance reporting requirements, including actuals, budgets, forecasts, long-range financial plan (LRFP), and numerous supporting schedules.
• Assists in the analysis, communication, and interpretation of operational and financial data.
• Performs day to day financial activities such as analysis of actual, budget and forecast information.
• Assists in the development of the monthly financial forecasts, annual budget and LRFP.
• Develops strong working relationships with plant finance managers and business unit finance leadership. 
• Maintains constant communication with key individuals on sensitive deliverables such as actual results, forecasts, and budgets.
• Develops understanding of key processes and works to eliminate waste in time-sensitive functions.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Education

• Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Technology or closely related field
• High-level of personal computer skills including advanced skills with over 1 year of experience in Microsoft Office and Excel.
• 0-3 years relevant experience

Preferred:

• MBA or pursuing
• Working knowledge of Oracle ERP or Plex ERP
• Familiar with use of Hyperion Financial Management
• Ability to adapt in a constantly changing work environment where priorities will constantly change.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Self-starter with ability to complete projects start-to-finish.
• Outstanding interpersonal skills (i.e., presentations, meeting facilitation, etc.).
• A desire to explore new tools and technologies to improve financial planning, analysis and reporting
